Why we build for the Dutch market first

At dreebro we build software for companies and organisations in the Netherlands. That is a deliberate choice. We could have made a generic international product, but it is precisely the Dutch context that determines whether software truly fits.

The Dutch market is compact, well organised and often strictly regulated. Organisations work with their own processes, habits and obligations. Software that ignores this ultimately costs users more time than it saves.

Dutch processes require their own software

Think of employee participation, where the Works Councils Act determines which rights and deadlines apply. Or administrative processes with specific Dutch requirements. A generic tool does not know that context and leaves users to reinvent the wheel.

Language and legislation are not a detail

Good software communicates in the user's language and follows the rules that apply in that country. That goes further than translation: it is about terms, deadlines and responsibilities that fit Dutch practice.

Depth first, then breadth

We choose to become genuinely good in one market first. By focusing on the Netherlands we can deliver depth instead of shallowness. Only once a product demonstrably adds value here do we look further.

Building with users from practice

Our products are not created behind a desk. We talk to the people who do the work every day and incorporate their feedback into what we build. That keeps software aligned with reality, not just with a theoretical process.
